Rockledge U-13 Girls GCF Fall Champions
The U-13 Lady Rockledge Steelers recently finished as Champions in
the 2009 Greater Central Florida Youth Soccer (GCF) Fall League. The
defensive minded Steelers(ROC331) led the league with an outstanding
8 wins, 0 losses and 2 draws while only allowing 3 goals all season,
clean sheets were provided in 8 of the 10 contests. The offense was
well balanced with 11 players finding the back of the net. Coach
Allen Lucas stated "it was truly a team effort with every player
averaging at least 50 percent play time during the season".
Clubs participating in the GCF league this
season included Space Coast United, Central Florida United, Florida
Soccer Alliance, Association of Christian Youth, East Orange Soccer,
Ormond Beach Soccer Club, Deltona Youth Soccer, Apopka Football Club
and BSL-Ocala.
The Lady Steelers are
Hannah Baker, Sarah Barnao, Samantha Benton, Natalie Bertran, Julia
Brewster, Jodeci Galeas, Payton Honaker, Brianna Jamgochian,
Alexandra Knodel, Cecila Lucas, Elena Mercadante, Kala Neighbor,
Emily Plotz, Katy Reeves, Malea Storum and Taylor Yancey. Special
Recognition also goes out to Emily Plotz who was selected to the
Florida 97 Olympic Development Program pool.
Next up for the Lady
Steelers is Region Cup in February. Well done and Good Luck Ladies!! |
